Hello, I'm Divakar
/di - vakar/
('Di' sounds like 'di' in 'division' & 'vakar' like 'walker')
I'm a Product Designer based in London, UK.
I design to simplify things and humanize design. I believe technology needs to make things fun.
We should design to make difficult tasks easier and easier tasks, enjoyable.
what's the story
Where I'm From
I was born and raised in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. I didn't use a phone or computer until I was 12 years old, so my childhood hobbies revolved around sketching and exploring things from the inside out. Looking back, I'm grateful for that experience—it taught me to deeply understand how things work, fueling my curiosity and ultimately sparking my passion for computers and design.
What I used to Do
I was a very curious and proactive kid at school. I did my bachelors in computer science, taught UX design to my juniors, led my university football team to win back to back titles. While pursuing masters in UX, I worked in a kitchen and quickly advanced to lead the team. Leveraging my design skills, I restructured the kitchen to reduce wastage and streamlining repetitive tasks to save time.
What I Do Now
Now I'm a UX Designer at VRV Athletics shaping new experiences for the sports & mental wellbeing app. Previously, I was helping design Mobile and Web experiences for banks at Nuclei. Before that, I was a Founding Product Designer at Fametronix Technologies where we helped brands elevate their web experiences.
Where I'm At Now
Currently I live in London. Learning new tings everyday and love exploring new tech and listening to product design podcasts and indie music. I get inspired by little intentional things like the subtle micro-interactions when toggling a button, a handwritten note on takeaway packaging, or how a bookstore thoughtfully groups books to tell a visual story. I'm trying to be that designer who helps users not to think twice.
What I'm Looking For
To work on products that makes everyday lives easier through design. Meaningful work with a diverse team of talented people.

when I'm not designing
You can usually find me playing in goal, but rarely inside the box. Often I try to explore new indie music, read books, capture random things, sometimes sketching or watering the plants! (find inspirations to update portfolio too)
I love doing things that feed my soul. I love to know hows, whats and whys behind the process. Why/how did the artist paint it this way? or why does the ants move in a straight line? and then i go search and find the answer.
Enjoy some of my photo gallery that i clicked on random moments.
